Director of Finance and Administration - JW11305

The St Marylebone CE School is a very successful, oversubscribed, multi-faith Church of England comprehensive school for girls (11-18; boys who admitted to the 6th form). The School will be converting to Academy Status on 1st September 2011. You will be responsible to the Governors in conjunction with the Headteacher, for the efficient business administration and management of the non-teaching activities of the School as the school’s leading support staff professional (p/o the senior management team). One early major task will be to help guide the successful transition to Academy status across all areas of the postholder’s responsibilities and to ensure that the school is fully prepared to meet Academy reporting requirements. To give advice on, and supervision of, all financial matters; to manage all aspects of central administration: finance, IT, premises, maintenance, HR, security, utilities, etc., with c.10 staff. Required: a senior financial management role in a commercial/financial environment, preferably in education or charity/non-profit sectors. Experience in Academies would be welcomed The abilities: to initiate and manage change; to relate sensitively to a wide range of people; excellent communication skills, sympathy with the CE character and ethos of the School.
