About Us

Our background

Balanced People was formed in 1998 as a specialist financial recruitment consultancy. Initially focused on providing finance and accountancy staff to the recruitment sector, Balanced People recruited the Group Financial Directors for four listed recruitment businesses amongst many other assignments. Some might call this a "coals to Newcastle" service, however, we prefer to see our specialisation in this niche market as evidence of our ability to service a very discerning customer base!

The business subsequently expanded to work within other sectors and developed a specialism in recruiting Finance Directors for Private-Equity backed businesses, MBO / MBI teams and small cap / AIM listed companies.

In 2005 Balanced People was acquired by Kingston Smith LLP and merged with Kingston Smith Executive Search. This extended our client reach into the Marketing Services sector and brought additional strengths in the Not-for-Profit sector and in the provision of Interim Managers and Non-Executive Director introductions.
